Why didn't the Mars Volta just shorten Frances the Mute, instead of totally removing it?

They took that song off the album, Frances the Mute, because it was longer than what CD's can hold.

Why the fuck didn't they take out those 5 minutes of shit in the beginning?

It ruins the whole CD not having that song on it

I told you it wasn't on it in the other thread.

Also, the album is already like 77 minutes, so cutting 5 minutes off that song wouldn't make a difference.
