What's the definition of real?

Good example little kids, in their mind Santa Clause is real, who's to say. To us it's not real, but in that kids mind he/she believes it to be. He believes it because he has been told, so he could behave and know how to act or they would receive a lump of coal.

What's the definition of real?

Religion, its what people believe, people won't change their minds otherwise. They were taught to believe it, they were taught to be good people. For if the misbehaved they would die and not be in peace. In their hearts and mind its real, but to other people its not, who's to say no your wrong. God does not exist, when you die you lie in a hole and are put into a conscious state. Why to break them, to give them no reason to be good people in life. Which is the basis of all religions, to give them something to look forward too, and a reason to be a good person.

You're an idiot.

Anyway, I guess it's a reasonable uestion, but most people base the concept of reality on logic. What they can simply percieve by senses, they call real.

I'm sure there are some things that don't exist on earth, that do somewhere else in the universe though.

Would you say that things on TV can be considered "real"? You are seeing it, but does it make it real?

I think its simply what people believe in what they think is right or wrong, So in turn it is the person themselves who say what is real and what is not.  Because everyone in the world is so different nobody can say. But there are then the people who think that there thought or Idea rules over others and sometimes society accepts it as the correct thing or it bombs and we say they are stupid. For Instance the Bible(roman catholic) It was written and then some oen said it was the right thing and the world, well the catholics took it in and accepted it as the correct thing where as the Iraqi people accepted the Quran as the correct one.

ok now i am rabbling on so theres my opinion lol
Men, it's been a long war, it's been a tough war. You've fought bravely, proudly for your country. You're a special group. You've found in one another a bond, that exists only in combat, among brothers. You've shared foxholes, held each other in dire moments. You've seen death and suffered together. I'm proud to have served with each and every one of you. You all deserve long and happy lives peace
