I don't have that much trouble being in social situations... although I do have the same phone phobia, but mostly just because I feel like if you're not going to be looking at the person, talk to them via email/IM/text, because I'm better at writing than speaking, unless it's a speech or something.  navi;

Uh...well I have trouble starting social things, but I really have no trouble if someone comes up to me and talks to me or something. I'm just not the kind of person that usually starts a conversation.

As for social gatherings like dances and shit, well I just plain hate them. I can't stand being around more than one jackass at a time.
