History is important, we learn about politics! We need to know because we would know when history is repeating it-self in a BAD WAY

As for art, your school my not have a good art program but my school has a pretty tight ass program, LAST HEAR I LEARNED FLASH 8. Spending 1-2 hours on a Big Mac doing vector art sound pretty kick ass   huh

Curing Cancer or learning how Leonidous(sp?)  and his 300 Spatans defeated the Persians? Learning Flash 8 or finding ways to get into space without wasting money? I know which answers are the right answers.....

No, I am asking what would be more useful to survive (but it's my fault for not wording it properly).

Getting into space doesn't have much to do with surviving.

I really hate myself dawkins; Is making/looking at art more important then traveling into space?

It doesn't really matter, seeing as though you're probably not going to learn how to get into space without wasting money in high school.

But thats the thing, if the education was good enough, you could learn about space, and with that knowledge of space, you may be able to come up with a few theories that may or may not make space exploration cheaper.

What if you're artistically inclined, rather than scientifically inclined?

Sure, those are good to learn, but is it really useful? Sure, being able to work Photoshop and code in Java could get you a job easily, but does that really matter? Computers are useless if there's no one to use them...

Edit: I feel I'm getting off-topic. The point is that only the useful stuff should be mandatory (and schools should be shut down if they can't teach the subject(s) properly), and you should be able to learn whatever you want.

So no matter what school to you is not fun? You get to spent 7 hours text messaging your freinds, you get to learn about fun subjects like history, sience, and olectives. Look, if you don't like YOUR school, burn it down for mythical god's sake. But my school on a southern californian island with the best computer programs and the best efficient buildings with all my friends and internet faster then the network at my house sounds pretty damn fun to me

In todays society, that's not a good idea... BTW, it's not about fun, it's about how well the classes are taught, but if the classes are fun and you can learn from them, then that would be very helpful to us
