I finished it a little bit ago and it's mine too. It's so funny, after reading Atlas Shrugged and the Fountainhead and then reading about her philosophy she is a lot less subtle in Anthem. I remember once in the Fountainhead Peter asking Dominique where her "I" was but then in Anthem that chapter that opens with him using 'I' instead of 'We' and the last word being what it is (and how important the ego is in all of her writing)

It was really fantastic.

Yes, I love her emphasis on individualism, that people need to make things happen for themselves rather than leaving it up to others and living according to some set standard of society. I feel so frustrated sometimes that I can't necessarily do what I'd like in life without others' dissent, but this reminds me that as long as I'm happy with what I am, it shouldn't matter.

Sometimes I feel like if I am doing something with my life that might not be agreed with (by parents, whomever) that I can use Rand's writing/philosophy to justify it but I've never done that, or don't know if it's even relative but I am very tired now. She's really brilliant though. And I enjoyed very much how the house she described in Anthem was similar to one Howard Roark would have designed, big windows that take up a lot of space, flat roof, lines.

it makes sense to me, but you haven't read Anthem so I can see why you would get confused.

Well if Peter's in it that would make it a sequel of sorts

But Peter isn't in it, that's what I am saying. I can understand why that statement was confusing but I think anybody who has read both The Fountainhead and Anthem would understand it. Peter is not in Anthem, I was just making a connection between the two, I could have worded it better but Peter is NOT in Anthem. Anthem was written before the Fountainhead
